Sulmona Ristorante

CAMBRIDGE, MA

Sulmona Ristorante

Project Description

A beautiful Italian restaurant featuring antipasti, pizza, street food, pasta, secondi and salumi in Kendall Square in Cambridge, MA. The name pays homage to the city of Sulmona, in the Abruzzi region of Italy, where owner Delio Susi’s mother grew up. The decor also reflects this influence with an enlarged sign from Sulmona’s piazza painted on one wall and 6 replicas of aqueducts from the city that hang behind the bar.

The restaurant seats 125 and features a 12-seat communal table that stretches along the window opposite the main entrance. Modeled after a mid-20th-century pizza oven, a high-powered pizza oven, is on display in the corner by the kitchen and a 10-seat chef’s table. A long banquette paired with low-top tables provides a border between the dining area and the hightop tables at the bar. Their beverage program will feature 63 bottles of mostly Italian wine as well as local beers and scratch cocktails.
